Supreme elegance! Beautiful color, with intense and bright reflections. The diversity of the aromas is striking: wild cherry, nutmeg, camphor wood, fine leather...Later on, the wine takes on a subtle aroma of truffle, producing the most varied palette. With its perfect balance between tannin and acidity, the wine has a fleshy, sturdy body. Powerful and long aftertaste. A wealth of harmonious sensations characterizes this great Burgundy.
For the last 140 years, Maison Joseph Drouhin has been in the hands of the Drouhin family. Today, the fourth generation is at the helm, motivated by the same passion that inspired the founder of the company. Producing close to 90 different appellations, Joseph Drouhin offers a fascinating array of Burgundy terroirs in all their authenticity and subtle variations, accentuated by their farming and growing practices. Joseph Drouhin has adopted the organic and biodynamic approach. Only natural products are used in the vineyards and all procedures show the utmost respect for the soil, the vine and the environment.
The style of Joseph Drouhin is an alliance between character, balance and harmony. Wines meant to be drunk young are fresh and subtle; wines meant for keeping acquire with age a luscious complexity. The wines of Joseph Drouhin are found on the finest tables and wine lists in the world. This Bourgogne rouge is a wine full of charm and delicious layers of red fruits like raspberry, red currants and wild strawberry. On the palate, the wine is so charming and energetic with smooth tannins and the Drouhin's signature elegance

The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Village comes from three parcels. It has a pretty violet-tinged bouquet that is simple but effective, well-defined with red cherries and kirsch. The palate is balanced with moderate weight, pure red fruit with an appealing, slightly tart finish. This punches above its weight. Savour this over the next 8-10 years. 90-92

Outstanding Top Value. This is the first wine to display any appreciable reduction and it's enough to overshadow the underlying fruit. More interesting are the fresh and bright middleweight flavors that possess a velvet textured mid-palate that contrasts somewhat with youthfully austere finish that displays excellent depth and persistence for its level. This is unusually good for its level and worth considering, plus it should repay up to a decade of keeping. [Produced from several lieux-dits including 20% from the 1er Les Chaumes.
