THIS IS A HALF BOTTLE This First Growth Barsac producer is planted to 100% Semillon with old vines averaging 40+ years. The wine is aged for 18-24 months in barrels with 30-50% new oak and the wine is neither fined nor filtered to extract the deepest concentration and fullest complexity. Parker calls Climens, "one of France's monumental sweet wines and a personal favorite. It combines great nobility with laser-like flavor precision. A tour de force in winemaking." He considers it "the most companionable with food, the most complex and the most compelling wine to drink in the Barsac/Sauternes region."

Toffee, dried lemon rind and tropical fruit on the nose. Full-bodied and very sweet, with a dense palate of candied fruit and a long, sweet finish. Very concentrated. The botrytis spice creeps up on the finish. Best after 2013.
