This high quality California Cabernet made by winemaker Joel Gott is one of the greatest values in American wine we can find. For this wine, Napa fruit is sourced from highly regarded Howell Mountain as well as South Napa vineyards and is complex with great depth; Lake County fruit is from the Red Hills Appellation, planted on obsidian volcanic soil, which lends minerality and rich texture; Central Coast fruit from Paso Robles and Hames Valley in Monterey County adds good flavor maturity and development. Sourcing from these varied regions across California helped to create an elegant, balanced wine.
Made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged in 25% new American oak, this has aromatics of mocha, roasted blue fruits, plums, and cherry spice. The wine enters ripe on the palate, well-structured and with firm tannins mid-palate, followed by a long, balanced finish. Serve with roasted red meats, barbeque chicken, grilled hearty vegetables, rustic bean soups, burgers, aged cheeses and more...
