Bhakta Armagnac 1973

We recently had the opportunity to meet and taste over 20 Armagnac offerings with Industry Veteran Sean O’Rourke (CEO of Bhakta Spirits. One of of absolute favorites we tasted was the 1973! 

BHAKTA 1973 Armagnac is a truly exceptional spirit, a 50-year-old vintage awarded the #1 Spirit of 2023 by The Ultimate Spirits Challenge (99 points). This exquisite Armagnac boasts a complex flavor profile with notes of zesty blood orange, rich Caranni leather, dried fruits like raisins and dates, and burnished oak. The aroma is equally captivating, offering a harmonious blend of expressive wood, hints of tar, and a delightful balance of chocolate, dark vanilla honey, and soft spices. The finish is long, satisfying, and leaves a lingering pleasantness on the palate.

This bottle represents a landmark year, not just for its quality, but also for its historical significance. It's part of the BHAKTA Spirits Vintage Library, a collection featuring single-vintage Armagnacs dating back to 1868. Each vintage captures the unique characteristics of its year, influenced by climate, distillation techniques, and the subtle aging process within wood and glass. BHAKTA's dedication to quality is further confirmed by numerous accolades, including 98 points from the International Wine and Spirits Challenge and Double Gold with Best Brandy Overall at the TAG Spirits Awards.
