97-99. Barrel Sample. Seriously structured and yet also so smooth, this wine has great concentration and powerful tannins. There is wonderful juiciness here as well as dense, dusty tannins that are never hard, always velvet. It is going to be a great wine when it is released in maybe 10 years time. The wine comes only from vineyards that are biodynamic.

Lastly, the Grand Vin is a heavenly wine that offers a quintessential Latour bouquet of pure crème de cassis, graphite, lead pencil shavings, tobacco, and a liquid rock-like minerality. It shows a touch of the riper, sexy style of the vintage, yet still stays tight and compact on the palate, with full-bodied richness, fine yet building tannins, flawless balance, and a great finish. Not far off the style of the 2009, this is going to be approachable with just 4-6 years of bottle age and will have 40 years of longevity.

Silky and very fresh in feel, with delightful black cherry and plum compote notes lined with subtle black tea and graphite hints. Shows some sneaky density on the back end. Drink now through 2028.
