Avaline Organic Cabernet Sauvignon

Cameron Diaz launched this 'clean' wine brand that is vegan-friendly and organic with no harsh chemical pesticides used to grow the grapes. The Charlie's Angels actress has created a white, rosé and two reds under the name Avaline with her friend, entrepreneur Katherine Power of Who What Wear and Versed Skincare fame. 'I enjoyed wine for many-a-year and never questioned it... but I had no idea of the process... we soon learned it wasn't what you added, it's what you didn't add,' said Cameron. The star met Katherine through her sister-in-law Nicole Richie (also married to a Madden brother). In April 2018 they began studying the wine world and questioned what went into their favorite beverage. 'I actually figured it was the most responsible alcohol choice because it was made with fermented grapes. But I had no idea of the process. One of the first conversations Katherine and I had about making a cleaner wine was "what are we doing to add in?" we soon learned it wasn't what you added, it's what you didn't add,"' said Diaz. 'Launching with a white and rosé, the wines are clean, delicious, vegan-friendly, made with organic grapes and free of unnecessary additives. With ingredient transparency on each label, Avaline aims to set a new standard for the wine industry,' boasts the press release.

This new addition to Avaline is a Cabernet Sauvignon from the Wahluke Slope AVA in Washington State. We were actually quite impressed that Diaz chose this region instead of California, since WA makes incredible Cabs but is still flying under the radar for most American consumers. Before Diaz founded Avaline, it has been reported that she was an avid Cabernet lover. Medium to full bodied with notes of red berries and a hint of cocoa, this is bold and chocolatey with rich cherry and red currant character. The tannins are warm and smooth with a subtle hint of spice on the finish.
