Between two ridges in the hills above Boonville in Anderson Valley, sits Ferrari-Carano’s Middleridge Ranch. Quiet and peaceful with warm, western winds in the afternoon, the flavors of these grapes are very fruit driven, but still possess the spice and minerality for which the valley is known. The appellation is Anderson Valley, and the wine is made of 100% Pinot Noir aged 8 months in French oak, 10% new. Middleridge Ranch Pinot Noir is a seductive, aromatic wine that pairs well with salmon, fowl and meat entrees such as beef bourguignon or rack of lamb.
Family-owned and operated since 1985, Ferrari-Carano is a leader in high quality Sonoma wines. Don and Rhonda Carano have built the winery up to 20 estate vineyards, with an emphasis on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. They have also hired Thomas Rivers Brown as consultant, bringing the wines to whole new level.
