Tenuta Santodeno Sangiovese Di Romagna Appassimento 2020

100% Sangiovese from vines grown in the Bidente Valley – named after the Bidente river, on the border between Emilia Romagna and Tuscany. The valley enjoys a unique microclimate with a mix of hot and cold air currents, allowing for a long hanging time and resulting in complex aromas in the wine. The clay/sandy soil permits excellent absorption of the nutritional components by the roots. The grapes are hand-harvested and put in small crates. The are dried slowly before crushing to further concentrate their rich flavors. Ample and intense aromas of violet and roasted coffee and flavors of ripe berries, mocha and plums.
