This beautiful Cabernet from Coombsville in the Napa Valley, embodies the depth, elegance, and complexity of the famed region by blending fruit from a diverse set of first-rate vineyards. Paul Hobbs is one of California's most respected winemakers as well as being a highly sought after winemaker consultant for several wineries. He splits his time between California wine country and the sun drenched vineyards of Argentina. Robert Parker praises Hobbs : 'Paul Hobbs is one of the most brilliant winemakers working in California. His empire in the Russian River continues to expand, with a bevy of artisinal hand-made Cabernet Sauvignons, Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, and Syrahs.'

One of the most elegant Cabernets of the 2019 vintage. Sourced from various Coombsville sites, this blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot, and 2% Merlot is teeming with minerality, baking spices, toasted cedar and rich red berry aromas. Impressively vibrant, unfolding with fragrant rose petal contrasted by fresh gravelly tones. A dusty tannin backbone is framed by firm acidity, while the round fruit profile is almost buoyant. This will develop lovely complexity over time.

From the southern, cooler end of the valley, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville offers a vibrant, lively bouquet of blue fruits, sappy herbs, truffle, tobacco, and hints of gravelly earth. It brings plenty of richness on the palate and is medium to full-bodied, has nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish. It's a beautiful, cooler-climate, textured, balanced Cabernet that can be enjoyed today or cellared for upwards of two decades.

This has a wisp of singed bay leaf weaving in and out of a core of steeped plum, açaí and fig fruit, while smoldering cast iron and warm earth tones fill in through the finish, giving this a bit of an old-school bent. Best from 2023 through 2038. 344 cases made.

Fresh, with eucalyptus and menthol to the blackberries and raspberries. Medium-bodied, bright and crisp with fine tannins and pretty length. Cabernet sauvignon with 10% cabernet franc and a touch of petit verdot.

The second vintage of this wine, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville comes entirely from Hobbs's Nathan Coombs Estate. A blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8.5% each Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot and 2% Merlot, it offers dark fruit notes of blackberry and blueberry, plus hints of graphite and cedar. Full-bodied and rich, it has enough soft, dusty tannins to make it a solid steakhouse option, while the finish is long and tinged with licorice. With just over 6,000 cases produced, it's the one consumers are most likely to encounter in the market.
