Brand Feudo di Santa Tresa
Alcohol/vol 14%

Feudo di Santa Tresa estate has about 123 acres of vineyards in the historical vine growing region of Vittoria in Sicily. A careful selection of the clones and rootstocks are planted at a density of approximately 2,025 vines per acre to preserve the typicity of native varietals while realizing the full potential of this unique microclimate.

Lying close to the Mediterranean, Feudo di Santa Tresa’s vineyards benefit from cooling sea breezes. The estate’s soil consists of a layer of light, red, sandy loam (terra rossa) resting on top of a limestone base, which helps retain vital water. In order to preserve this rich terroir, only natural techniques are used to assist cultivation. While the abundant wind and scarce rainfall naturally protect against pest, infestations are further prevented through limited copper and sulfur treatments and “sexual confusion” pheromone traps. In addition, only natural fertilizers are used to avoid introducing chemicals into the topsoil. Undersoil irrigation is utilized to prevent evaporation, thereby maximizing water efficiency.

Made of 60% Nero d'Avola and 40% Frappato, tasted and loved by our staff. Hints of spice with ripe, savory fruit abound. This red smells so good right out of the gate and the finish is ultra smooth. Yummy.

Cherries and spices, such as dried red chili, on both the nose and palate. Medium body, fine tannins and a bright finish. Long and linear. Fresh.

A berry and floral nose on this wine offers sweetness before herbal and soil aromas add depth, joined by spicy red pepper. The palate echoes this fruity, earthy and spicy combination buoyed by plenty of acid and firm but friendly tannins.

A dusting of autumnal spice comes together with sweet violets and mocha-tinged blackberries as the 2020 Cerasuolo di Vittoria opens in the glass. This is fruit-focused, softly textured with ripe wild berry fruits and juicy acidity. It finishes with admirable length and a subtle staining of residual concentration as hints of licorice fade.
