E. Guigal Côte Rôtie Brune et Blonde 2017
|Region||France, Rhone, Cote Rotie|
Jeb DunnuckNot yet bottled, the 2017 Côte Rôtie Brune Et Blonde will be an outstanding wine as well as have 15 years of prime drinking. Rocking levels of kirsch and black raspberry fruits are interwoven with nuances of flowers, incense, herbes de Provence, and spice. This ripe, sexy, medium to full-bodied barrel sample shows the sunny style of the vintage yet has seamless tannins and stays weightless on the palate. 91-93+
Wine AdvocateHints of almond paste and vanilla accent red cherries and raspberries on the nose of the 2017 Cote Rotie Brune et Blonde. It's medium-bodied, crisp and crunchy yet finishes ripe and silky. It's another classic vintage that should drink well young yet be capable of up to a decade of cellaring.
Wine SpectatorLively, with a mix of damson plum and bitter cherry notes lined with sanguine and iron hints. An understated style, but this has range and is sneaky long, with dried savory and bay leaf details on the finish. Best from 2021 through 2032.
