Ortiz El Velero Bonito Del Norte Tuna Packed in Olive Oil

There's no going back to ordinary canned tuna once you've tasted this Bonito del Norte, or white tuna, from Spanish producer Conservas Ortiz. It is meaty, clean tasting and packed in olive oil to keep the flakes moist and flavorful. This 4-ounce oval tin is just the right size to top a single serving of Niçoise salad or to make the ultimate tuna fish sandwich. We also like to make easy appetizers of Ortiz tuna salad served on endive leaves or as a stuffing for piquillo peppers.

For more than 100 years and through five generations, the Ortiz family has been committed to traditional, sustainable fishing and preserving techniques. For example, when, every summer, huge shoals of white tuna appear off the northern coast of Spain in the Bay of Biscay, the Conservas Ortiz fishermen line-catch every fish individually.
