Brand | The Debate |
Origin | California, Napa Valley |
This is a magnum size 1.5Liter : According to 'The Debate' owners, Jean Hoefliger and Rob McKay, 'wines, like people, are a reflection of their origin and evolution. The Debate began in 2010 when these two friends brought their unique perspectives together to create thought provoking and delicious wines that extend beyond the sense of taste to the thrill of telling stories and the art of listening. By selecting three different vineyards with three different expressions of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the Debate seeks to point out the diversity of terroir as well as the diversity of people. We live in an age where less and less time is spent at the dinner table discussing these different points of view. The Debate's mission is to bring people together to share a glass of wine to discuss and debate just as our team does.'
The Ultimate Debate is a blend of all the top vineyards (To-Kalon, Denali, Sacrasche, etc.) that Jean and Rob work with, both Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.

This is a barrel sample of the final blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon and 37% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 The Ultimate Debate gives up bold, unabashed notes of baked blackberries and warm cassis with hints of chocolate box, yeast extract, charcoal and underbrush plus a waft of black truffles. Full-bodied, rich, concentrated and decadently styled, it has firm, ripe, velvety tannins and great freshness, finishing very long with exotic spices coming through. 600 magnums are expected to be produced. 95-97+
