Cesari Valpolicella Superiore Mara Ripasso 2019

The Cesari estate was founded in Veneto in 1936 by Gerardo Cesari. Their Ripasso is made of mostly Corvina with Rondinella, from handpicked grapes with the traditional method of passing the wine over the dried grape skins (lees) of the Amarone. Named for the family's matriarch, Mara Cesari, look for an Amarone-esque nose of macerated red fruits, mocha and licorice. This is big and warm yet balanced with a silky, long finish. Excellent with game and red meats.
