Planted to 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, Château Malescot Saint Exupéry was awarded third growth status in the 1855 classification in Bordeaux. Today their old vines average 40+ years planted in soils consisting of Pyrenean gravel are very well-placed in the appellation. Some of Malescot's vines lie right next to those of Chateau Margaux. Malescot is highly capable of turning out 'compelling wines that combine elegance and authoritative flavors' according to Robert Parker.
The name of the property is taken from two former owners: Malescot and Saint Exupéry, the grandfather of the famous aviator-writer. Château Malescot Saint Exupéry adjoins part of Château Margaux's vineyard. The current owner has focused his efforts on improving the quality of this notable estate and has succeeded. From the beginning of the 1990s, the wines, with aromas of red and black fruits, and red and purple flowers, have become richer, more intense and more consistent. They are also now even more refined with delicate nuances to match the full-bodied character.

Lovely, with gently mulled plum, blackberry and black currant fruit sailing through atop a velvety structure while mouthwatering bay, black tea and iron notes flow underneath. Seductive, detailed finish lets a sanguine note echo longest. Gorgeous wine. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2023 through 2036. 9,183 cases made.

The medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Malescot St. Exupery leaps from the glass with expressive scents of baked blackberries, Morello cherries and boysenberries with hints of blackcurrant cordial, dark chocolate, licorice and tilled soil. The medium to full-bodied palate has impressive intensity without heaviness, delivering mouth-coating black fruits and a firm, grainy texture, finishing with a refreshing earthy lift.

92-94. Barrel Sample. This up-and-coming estate has produced a rich, generous wine. Its tannins are open and broad, giving power to the black currant flavor and fine acidity. It will certainly be an attractive, fruity and fresh wine as it matures.
