Allagash Brewing Company is dedicated to crafting the best Belgian-inspired beers in the world. Founded in 1995 by Rob Tod in Portland, Maine, Allagash began with a 15-barrel brewhouse, committed to crafting new exciting beers for the US market, with traditional Belgian styles, made in America. Best known for their flagship beer, Allagash White, they also age beer in oak barrels (beginning with the launch of Curieux in 2004) and spontaneously fermented beers (beginning with the traditional Coolship in 2007).  From its beginning as a one-person operation in 1995, Allagash has also focused on being an environmentally and socially responsible member of the community. Since then, they have a comprehensive sustainability initiative, with a focus on reducing waste, using less water and power, and giving back to the local community. Installing solar panels and LED lighting are part of the cause among other things. The 'Green Team' at Allagash has it all under control!
