Two Tremendous Values in
2015 Bordeaux :: Teyssier & Laforge
Grand Cru Saint Emilions $24.99 & $29.99

Our Mother, Marie always says, 'It's not what you know, it's who you know...' and that is certainly the case with these two wines we acquired from a friend importing Bordeaux for a handful of select clients. Châteaux Teyssier and Laforge are both owned by Jonathon Maltus, a true force to be reckoned with on the Right Bank of Bordeaux. A 'newcomer' approaching 30 years of owning fine vineyards in the region, Maltus, who learned how to make wine in Cahors, has resurrected historic estates like Teyssier dating back to the 1700's, and has established a plush, alluring house style across the board at his properties, including at Laforge whose vineyards are situated near Monbousquet. He also produces the extravagant Le Dôme, whose state-of-the-art winery is not far from Angelus. Top real estate all around! Not only are his two wines below extraordinary values from a top Bordeaux vintage, they are two of the greatest buys in the entire store for legitimately fine wine.

Cheers to 50 Years! the Murray family

Château Teyssier St. Emilion 2015 750ml

v 91 ws 91 wa 90 we 90

RATED 91 VINOUS : 'The 2015 Teyssier is a fabulous introduction to Jonathan Maltus's wines. Super ripe black cherry, plum, mocha, new leather and dark spice, along with the wine's natural lushness, give the Teyssier much of its immediacy and allure. Flamboyant an inviting, with impeccable balance, the 2015 has so much to offer, a very appealing proposition of price and availability. The blend is 70% Merlot & 30% Cabernet Franc.'

Chateau LaForge St. Emilion 2015 750ml

jd 93 v 93 wa 92

RATED 93 VINOUS : 'The 2015 Laforge has come along very nicely since I tasted it from barrel. The oak is now beautifully integrated. A dollop of Cabernet Franc (8%) gives lovely aromatic lift to the sweet red cherry, plum, mocha, savory herb and floral notes. A wine of total harmony and class, the 2015 will drink well right out of the gate. Laforge is a blend taken from the three main terroirs in Saint-Émilion: clay over limestone, gravel and sand.'
