Purlieu Le Pich Chardonnay 2016
We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.
This classy Chardonnay is made by Julien Fayard of Purlieu, who learned his craft at Chateau Lafite Rothschild. Julien gained valuable, first-hand experience as Director of Winemaking with Philippe Melka for elite Napa Valley producers like Lail, Gemstone, Hundred Acre, Mastery and Vineyard 29… Purlieu’s sister label, Le Pich, gets its name from a Wappo Indian term meaning “golden eagle.” They are hunting birds, and you can often spot them above their vineyards as they soar, glide, circle and arc. They are beautiful birds — stately and impressive, but not haughty or boasting, with a nimbleness that’s inspiring. Purlieu hopes that their Le Pich wines live up to the character of their namesake. Winery Notes: “Pale gold color. Nose of bananas, vanilla, and piecrust. Rich and creamy mouthfeel, leading to flavors of white fruits, fresh citrus, and baking spices. Long, clean finish.”
