Ca' Momi Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

SKU 01118

Ca’ Momi of Napa Valley is the realized dream of three quality-driven Italians: Dario De Conti, Stefano Migotto and Stefano's wife Valentina. In the early 1990s, Stefano and Dario were two of Italy’s brightest young winemakers. A decade later, each came to California to apply Old World philosophies with American winemakers. Valentina, originally from Veneto, arrived in California in 1997. The three all fell in love with the Napa Valley and started a partnership in the Ca’ Momi Napa Valley brand. The 2012 Cabernet is made of 100% Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

What does Ca' Momi mean?
Ca' = Short for "Casa" | Pronounced "ka"
Momi = Short for Momi dea Bionda | Pronounced "moh-me"

Ca’ Momi is Italian for “House of Momi." This is the endearing name given the Migotto family home in the Veneto region of Italy. The home's nickname comes from local legend (and prior owner of the house) Momi dea Bionda, who was notoriously obsessive and protective of his property and vineyards. When the three Italians made the move to California to begin Ca' Momi winery, they wanted to bring the spirit of Momi with them. The resulting wines are a celebration of Momi's passion, and the product of winemaking done with obsessive care.
