Comte Armand Bourgogne Aligoté 2016
Tasting Comte Armand was one of the highlights of our 2015 Burgundy tastings. This small production white (only 250 cases made) was aged 12 Months in 2 to 4year old 500L barrels. A blend of a 10 year old vine in Volnay and a very old 90-year old vine of Aligoté in Meursault, look for a very beautiful balance of freshness , richness, precision and vividness. The esteemed Comte Armand domaine is located in Pommard in the Côte de Beaune of Burgundy. The wines are made from biodynamic vines, 100% de-stemmed with whole-grape fermentation, 20-30% new oak; the reds are unfined, unfiltered and the whites are fined and lightly filtered.
