Silver Oak Alexander Cabernet has aromas of blackberries, violets, cedar, nutmeg and licorice. In the mouth, the wine has a big attack and offers great expression of fruit and spice on the mid-palate. Its tannin-packed finish is long yet elegant; after tasting this vintage, we determined that this is certainly a wine for the long haul by California standards. Typically made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink through 2024+. In 1972, Silver Oak's Alexander Valley vineyards produced the harvest that would become their first Cabernet Sauvignon. Seven years later, they harvested the grapes for their first Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon which is now produced as a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varietals.

Bottle ShopBeautiful nose of plums, spice, and a hint of vanillan oak which leads to rich flavors of dark berries, cedar and hints of roasted coffee. Full bodied and balanced with firm yet well integrated tannins that cascade across the palate. A real pleasure to drink.

Wine SpectatorPure, rich and firm, with an enticing core of blackberry, black olive, dill and herb flavors, ending with a cedary oak edge. Impressive for the mix of intensity and balance. Drink now through 2032.
