Marc Colin founded this small domaine in the late 1970's in Chassagne-Montrachet and todays specializes in this great village for white wines as well as in Saint-Aubin. Today, three of his children, Caroline, Joseph and Damien, work at and run the domaine. The press has given great praise for recent vintages, including this quote from Neal Martin at Wine Advocate: 'This is a knockout range of wines from Marc Colin. There is just an honesty, a deceptive simplicity to them because on the surface they are so delicious, yet underneath are some articulate expressions of terroir, stunning mineralité and hidden complexity that tends to become clearer with aeration. I have heaped praise upon Domaine Marc Colin in previous years. This is no different. Domaine Marc Colin is one of the best growers in the Côte de Beaune, perhaps to Saint Aubin what Jean-Marc Roulot is to Meursault. And you can quote me on that.'

"I tasted the full range of 2014s from the domaine, an impressive and comprehensive portfolio that includes some 26 labels. As I have found consistently over recent vintages, these are top flight wines that reveled in what is a great white Burgundy vintage. There's no airs and graces surrounding these wines -- just pure expressions of Chardonnay, each reflective of their terroirs. I was particularly impressed by Colin's Puligny-Montrachets in 2014, including the Le Trezin that, as I remarked to Damien, is more Premier Cru in quality. And in Chassagne-Montrachet, the Vide-Borse and Les Caillerets are both from the top drawer.' Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate

Wine AdvocateThe 2015 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Le Charmois was aged in 20% new oak without any foudres. It has a slightly more involving bouquet compared to the Saint Aubin La Combe, with notes of green apple, sea spray, something saline and perhaps even a distant tang of kelp. The palate is very well balanced with a fine thread of acidity. Focused and beautifully poised, it leaves it to the last moment to fan out and deliver the concentration that the growing season bestowed. It kind of plays with you, but that just makes you love it more. This is superb. Drink Date: 2018-2030.
