Thibault Liger-Belair Nuits St. Georges Les Saint Georges 2009

SKU 14574

Made by the young and quality-driven Thibault Liger-Belair, who is a cousin of Louis-Michel Liger-Belair, this Nuits Saint Georges is from a two hectare parcel in the premier cru vineyard of Les Saint Georges. Liger-Belair has also just added an estate in the Beaujolais region and is receiving much attention for both lines.

Wine AdvocateThe 2009 Nuits St. Georges Les St. Georges bursts from the glass with a dark, powerful voice. This is classic Les St. Georges. At times a bit on the rustic side, the wine makes up for its occasional firmness with tons of fruit, massive structure and tons of personality. There is an implosive quality that suggests the 2009 is holding back much of its potential. I can't wait to taste this with another few years of bottle age. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029.

BurghoundA distinctly earthy nose of red currants, iron and a hint of the sauvage that is also reflected by the rich and full-bodied yet supple flavors that are underpinned by relatively sophisticated tannins on the very firm and serious finish that is moderately austere at present. Patience will be required as this is solidly structured. 91-94
