Pronounced 'Donna', we visited this estate in 2010 and were struck by how beautiful the estate was. Proprietor Sang Lee and his son, both from Seoul, Korea have transformed the former Livingston Moffet estate into a state of the art winery perched in the benchlands of Napa. We tasted through both the Helms Vineyard and the Lotus Vineyard wines. With Philippe Melka as consulting winemaker we were blown away by the quality of both wines. Dana Estates' wines are worthy contenders to some of California's hottest cult wines including Colgin, Screaming Eagle, and Scarecrow.

Wine AdvocateTwo wines that I did not see from bottle have turned out to be close to perfection. The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Hershey Vineyard has unbelievable richness, a profound opaque purple color and enormous notes of lead pencil shavings intermixed with blackberry liqueur, white flowers and crushed rock. The wine is full-bodied and dense with moderately high tannin, but the tannin is integrated and silky. This is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and look for it to evolve for 30-35 years.

Wine SpectatorWell-built, featuring taut, gritty tannins and a mix of charcoal, graphite, cedar and dark berry flavors, with charry oak dominating. Best from 2020 through 2032.
