Naveran Brut Vintage is an estate-bottled vintage-dated 'growers' Cava at an incredible price. The goal of proprietor Michel Guilleron Parellada is to show the purity, youth and bright flavor characters of the three indigenous grapes used to make authentic Cava. Xarello (50%) contributes body, Macabeo (30%) gives aromatic intensity and Parellada (20%) lends acidity to the wine. The Naveran family legacy of winemaking began in 1901. Today the estate has 110 hectares (272 acres) of vines in the town of Torrelavit located in the Alt (high) Penedes subregion and is farming organically. Cava is Spain's largest volume wine export to the U.S. but the majority of it is exported by high volume producers. Naveran is a small production, premium example, made utilizing the classic Champagne methods. Naverán Brut Vintage is a grower Cava that spends 18 months on its lees after fermentation in the bottle to achieve greater depth, complexity and the fine, delicate and long lasting bubbles, called mousse by the French, an indication of a sparking wine's quality.

Cava wines are very versatile as an apéritif before the meal, to enjoy during a meal of seafood, shellfish or pork, or to accompany fruits, soft cheeses and/or biscuits after dinner for dessert. If visiting Barcelona, Cava is typically by-the-glass in all of the restaurants and cafe's.
