Château Les Grands Marechaux Premières Côtes de Blaye 2014

SKU 10263

We tasted and loved this Bordeaux with flavors of black jam confiture, cola and licorice and velvety mouthfeel. This small production red (typically 2500 cases produced) is aged in 20% new oak and the grapes are hand picked. Owned by Guillaume Touton, from whom we have been buying Bordeaux for over 25 years, the Les Grands Marechaux estate has sandy clay soils in the appellation of Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux.

Wine SpectatorBarrel Tasting. This has good flesh, with plum and cassis fruit that is pure and focused, lined with subtle toast and black tea notes.

Wine EnthusiastThis Merlot/Cabernet Franc blend is a tight closed wine showing tannins rather than fruit. It will remain this way.
