Ferrari-Carano Merlot 2022

Family-owned and operated since 1985, Ferrari-Carano is a leader in high quality Sonoma wines. Don and Rhonda Carano have built the winery up to 20 estate vineyards, with an emphasis on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. They have also hired Thomas Rivers Brown as consultant, bringing the wines to whole new level.

Typically made of 90% Merlot, 6% Malbec and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, Ferrari-Carano Merlot is made from cool climate valley floor vineyards which produce a supple, fruit-forward wine. Hand-harvested grapes are destemmed and then fermented, blended and barrel aged for 18 months in mostly French oak. Look for a complex nose of ripe cherry, blackberry jam, cinnamon and caramel, with flavors of wild berries and chocolate-covered strawberries with a velvety finish.
