Clos des Menuts Saint Emilion 2014
We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.
Located in the heart of Saint Emilion, Clos des Menuts has been owned by the Riviere family since 1875. Their medieval cellars give the wines a long, cool aging process, and the vineyards cover 25 hectares in St. Emilion planted to 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. Recently, Philippe Riviere hired winemaker extraordinaire, Stéphane Derenoncourt, to make Clos des Menuts. 2007 was the first vintage, and we first tasted it in the 2009 vintage. We have since carried the 2010, 2012 and now here's the 2014. The wine has become more balanced, silky and classic St. Emilion in nature in each vintage. All of the fruit is hand harvested and the wine is aged in oak for 18 months. Serve with fine roasts, filet mignon, aged cheeses and more.
