This Fifth Growth in Haut-Médoc is planted to 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc with vines averaging 25 years. Cantermerle has a winemaking history dating back to the 16th century. Today the wines are well-made year in and year out, with a rich, supple style and intense aromatics. Although it's not a blockbuster, not every wine needs to be! This will pair effortlessly with white and red meats, stews and roasts, cheeses and juicy red grapes.

Impressive richness and clarity of red and dark berries. Lightly spiced-pastry aromas, too. The palate has a very crisp, polished and groomed tannin texture, as well as super fresh flavors that carry long. Great wine. Try from 2022.

92-94. Barrel Sample. With structured tannins and red berry notes, this is already showing an elegant structure. It is the fruit that sings here, gently supported by the fine, dusty tannins.

Fresh, featuring ripe plum and cassis notes gilded with a floral hint and backed by subtle cedar, tobacco and iron notes. Textbook typicity. A rock-solid value. Best from 2019 through 2027.
