Cháteau Coutet Premier Cru Classé Barsac

Château Coutet is located in the Barsac appellation in the Sauternes region. In 1787, Thomas Jefferson, future president of the United States, considered the Château Coutet to be the best Sauternes from Barsac. The word "Coutet" is derived from the Gascon word for a knife. This word perfectly sums up the unique style of the estate's wines, which are sharp, lively and fresh. Coutet is a 43-hectare vineyard, with vines averaging 52 years old, planted on clay-limestone soils.

Composed of 95% Sémillon, 4% Sauvignon Blanc, and 1% Muscadelle, this Barsac is praised for its racy acidity, vibrant energy, and rich aromas of candied citrus, honey, and white peach.
