Faustini is the Napa Valley passion project of Anthony and Michelle Faustini. After much research during the summer of 2005, this quality-driven couple started their first Cabernet project with fruit sourced from the illustrious Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard in St. Helena, and never looked back. Their winemaker Kian Tavakoli worked at both Opus One and Clos du Val, and is a graduate of UC Davis. With Faustini wines, it's all about using prime vineyard sites and crafting rich, balanced, elegant wines. In addition to sourcing Beckstoffer Dr. Crane, they use fruit from Galleron Road Vineyard in Rutherford, Howell Mountain and Coombsville Vineyard in Napa Valley.
Look for loads of blue fruits, peppery herbs, and chocolate in the 2018 M2 Propietary Red. A medium to full-bodied Cabernet blend, this has terrific purity, and a great finish and will age gracefully in the bottle for up to a decade. While the specific recipe blend is confidential, this "proprietary red" from Napa usually combines classic Bordeaux varietals of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with Merlot and Cabernet Franc to create a complex profile.
