Owned and operated by the Meireles family from the town of Vila da Lixa since the mid-1980s, Quinta da Lixa crafts this delicious dry rosé from Portugal made of local grapes 60% Touriga Nacional and 40% Espadeiro. Made in a classic Vinho Verde style with ripe, juicy fruit, lovely balance and crisp acidity. Bottled under screwcap with a slight pétillance, we loved this racy little number!

This Rosé is light and fresh with aromas of strawberries and flowers. Balanced on the palate with flavors of tart fruits that lead to a delicate finish.

The 2024 Vinho Verde Rosé Escudo Real seems practically alive in the glass as it vibrates with tiny, scintillating bubbles that tickle every corner of the mouth. This tastes like you squeezed a lime on a slice of fresh summer watermelon, finishing it with some fat flakes of Maldon salt and washing it all down with a Topo Chico sparkling mineral water. It's a style that I find tremendously appealing, and if you're drinking it chilled outside in the dog days of summer, I bet you will too.
