Initial Impressions: Deceptively easy to drink - especially at this abv - with cocoa, tobacco and caramel notes, punctuated by bursting citrus and fruit characteristics. Finishes long and elegant with a rich and full mouth feel. Tasting Notes: A nose of core notes of Foursquare Rum - vanilla, toasted coconut, fresh berries, but quickly evolves into rich pipe tobacco, bergamot, and subtle nutty and oxidative characteristics. The palate is rich, complex, and robust. Caramelized Grapefruit Peel, Roasted Macadamia nuts, blackberry cobbler, and pineapple undertones give way to a rich and chewy mouth feel - reminiscent of taffy, and salted caramel. The caramel in particular is rich and deep, leaning into toffee sweetness.
