For the last 140 years, Maison Joseph Drouhin has been in the hands of the Drouhin family. Today, the fourth generation is at the helm, motivated by the same passion that inspired the founder of the company. Producing close to 90 different appellations, Joseph Drouhin offers a fascinating array of Burgundy terroirs in all their authenticity and subtle variations, accentuated by their farming and growing practices. Joseph Drouhin has adopted the organic and biodynamic approach. Only natural products are used in the vineyards and all procedures show the utmost respect for the soil, the vine and the environment.
The style of Joseph Drouhin is an alliance between character, balance and harmony. Wines meant to be drunk young are fresh and subtle; wines meant for keeping acquire with age a luscious complexity. The wines of Joseph Drouhin are found on the finest tables and wine lists in the world. This Bourgogne rouge is a wine full of charm and delicious layers of red fruits like raspberry, red currants and wild strawberry. On the palate, the wine is so charming and energetic with smooth tannins and the Drouhin's signature elegance.
This white is from the commune of Beaune, just above the city of Beaune. The appellation Côte de Beaune is given to wines coming from vineyards located on top of the hill overlooking the city of Beaune. It should not be confused with the appellation Côte de Beaune-Villages, the latter given to wines coming from several villages of the Côte de Beaune (but not Beaune itself) and blended together. Côte de Beaune-Villages as an appellation is used only for red wines.
This interesting and rare white wine comes from the estate of Joseph Drouhin on the Côte de Beaune (the slope above Beaune) and some declassified wine from the young vines of the famous Clos des Mouches vineyard. The soil is clay and limestone giving great finesse to the wines. A truly delicious and harmonious wine with a pale gold bright color. The aromas bring to mind honey, almond and lemongrass. As the wine matures, intense flavors of grilled hazelnut and almonds reveal themselves.
2022 offered a good maturity with particularly aromatic white wines. Citrus and ripe fruit mingle with delicate floral fragrances, very often accompanied by slightly spicy pastry notes. The palate, tender and fleshy, is based on a strong texture. Endowed with a pleasant roundness and a rich aftertaste, the wines of this vintage are well-balanced and show an excellent aging potential.

Drouhin's 2022 Côte de Beaune Blanc unites the young vines from the Clos des Mouches with fruit from climat Montagne Saint Desirée high on the Montagne de Beaune. Medium-bodied, ample and lively, it's a charming white evocative of pear, citrus oil and toasted nuts.
