Category | White Wine |
Varietal | |
Brand | Ottella |
Origin | Italy, Veneto, Lugana |
The grapes come from Ottella's estate vineyard, Le Creete, consisting of 12 hectares in the heart of Lugana in Veneto. Here the vines are 30-40 years old and the soil is marked by a high white clay content. These characteristics give to the wine a unique elegance and minerality. In Veronese dialect “Creete” means “creta” which is clay.
Made of 100% unoaked Turbiana (Trebbiano di Lugana), this has an intense golden yellow color with lush exotic aromas of pineapple and ripe grapefruit. A remarkable mineral sensation follows in this white wine of great character and aromatic elegance. Richness, consistency and balance inform this determined, mineral wine with gratifying pulp.
Ideal with seafood, soups, pasta and rice dishes; also very pleasant with strong-flavored cheese and blue cheese.

Le Creete vineyard is located at the southern end of Lake Garda and planted on the limestone and clay soils that make this region so interesting. As if basking in the sun, the wine opens with aromas of warmed pineapple, guava and lemon with heady white flowers wafting in and out. The palate lifts with tart notes of passion fruit and lemon peel, with a texture that has layers upon layers to explore. Crushed chalky notes define the lengthy and elegant finish.
