The Carte d'Or cuvée is the very expression of the Drappier style. With its very high proportion of Pinot Noir, one is almost drinking a Blanc de Noirs. This is a Champagne with a fine aromatic richness, it opens with aromas of stoned fruits such as white peaches. A spicy hint announces a powerful and complex palate. A vinous Champagne of lovely complexity with a characteristic note of quince jam. Serving as an impeccable aperitif or with white meats, fresh fish, and soft cheeses such as the famed Chaource cheese.
Drappier is a family-owned winery for 8 generations, founded in 1808, and currently run by 3 generations of the Drappier family. The Estate is located on an old abbey cellar, built in 1152. It was the favorite Champagne of Charles de Gaulle and is still poured at the French Presidency.
The house uses a natural approach to ensure the authenticity of the wines. The family highlights the multifaceted aspects of the terroir, the local varieties and their winemaking. These wines are pure and full of character, pairing superbly with food. Michel Drappier was one of the pioneers to release a Zero Dosage Champagne more than 30 years ago.
In their winemaking, they use low sulfites to no sulfites. And they add a very low dosage using a house-made liqueur. The Drappier family owns 60 hectares of vineyards, including 15 certified organic. Located in the Aube region, in South Champagne, famous for its Pinot Noir, but also growing Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and old varieties: Arbanne, Petit Meslier, Blanc Vrai.

This well-balanced nonvintage Champagne from this famed producer in the Aube region is dominated by Pinot Noir, giving rich character and structure. Red apple and ripe melon flavors mean everything is in place, making for a wine that is deliciously ready to drink.
