This is a unique and very delicious white wine from Beaujolais, grown in a historic ancient vineyard known as Clos de Loyse. Clos de Loyse is a 22.3 acre walled vineyard attached to a castle of medieval origin. It was the land of the Lords of Loyse until 1643, when Carthusian monks took over and cultivated Chardonnay there until the French revolution. Chardonnay vines are grown a few kilometers away from Fuissé yet on a very different terroir from the rest of Southern Burgundy, with alluvial soil lying on a granite bedrock, giving its wines a fruiter character. It is made with partial malolactic fermentation to preserve its freshness and then it is bottled unoaked to further protect the stoniness imparted from the soils.
This white offers a bright and energetic initial impression, with lively acidity and sleek texture. Citrus flavors are enhanced by stone and saline notes, as the flavor profile expands over the elegant finish. An ideal white wine for casual consumption with a range of cuisines including salads, seafood, sushi and other simple dishes, or as a lovely aperitif.

- A link to centuries of tradition and culture at this historic site

- Sustainably farmed and moving steadily toward organic certification
