Ottella Rosesroses Rosato Alto Mincio 2023
- bot93
Veneto is an important wine region in the northeastern corner of Italy. In terms of geography, culture, and wine styles, it represents a transition between the alpine, Germano-Slavic end of Italy and the warmer, drier, more Roman lands to the south. This beautiful Rosato is from a producer based in Veneto.
'Roses Roses' from Ottella is an enveloping, fruity, pleasantly minerally, fresh and balanced rosé with a light onion-skin pink color. The pervasive nose offers up fruity overtones of white peach and good mineral sensations. It is a wine with remarkable finesse, balance and character, supported by fresh acidity. Great to pair with both lake and sea fishes, or with white meat, light pasta and rice dishes, or as an excellent as an aperitif. We served it with castelvetrano olives, cubes of sheep's milk cheese and Spanish olive oil potato chips.

We recently fell in love with this Italian Rosato (dry rosé) from Veneto from the Ottella winery. We enjoy a rich, multi-layered rosato that is still dry but full of Italian flavors like wild cherry, licorice, ripe peaches and herbs. ‘RosesRoses’ is made of Corvina and Rondinella (the same grapes in Amarone and Valpolicella red wines), along with a touch of Lagrein giving floral aromas. Pair with Italian and Mediterranean foods, seafood, cheeses and charcuterie.
