Domaine Rene et Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 2023

The 2023 Chablis, with the majority of its fruit sourced from the vineyards near Vincent Dauvissat's La Forest, is a notable success and one of the top performers of the appellation. Soaring from the glass with scents of citrus oil, pear and dried flowers, it's medium to full-bodied and textural, with lively acidity and a mineral finish. If only all Chablis would taste like this!

The 2023 Chablis Village was quite reticent on the nose when tasted from barrel, in the same vein as the Petit Chablis, though it begins to open after a few swirls of the glass. The palate is very lemony, with hints of orange pith, a fine umami sensation with more weight on the finish than the Petit Chablis. Give this two or three years in bottle.
