Family-owned and operated, Provenance Vineyards began in 1999 and quickly earned a stellar reputation as a great Napa Valley winery. Over the years, after having fame for Cabernet Sauvignon, Provenance added Merlot, regional exclusives and single-vineyard wine for red Bordeaux-style blends as well as good white wine. Its founding family had the vision to produce fine wines that were true works of art of unique “provenance” or authentic origin.

Today, the Allen Lombardi family continues the quality drive at Provenance Vineyards. Attracted to its rich history, timeless style and strong growth potential, the Lombardis are committed to building the next chapter of the brand – increasing domestic distribution (and expanding globally) in fine wine shops and restaurants. The goal is make Provenance Vineyards wine more accessible to Napa wine lovers throughout the world.

A structured, fruit-forward, 100% Merlot showcasing ripe blueberry and plum flavors, accompanied by layers of herbal spice.This Merlot is selected from some of the best vineyards in Napa Valley like Oakville, which adds dark fruit, a dense texture and a flinty finish. Grapes are also sourced from Oak Knoll, which brings ripe red and blue fruit, spice and a focused acidity due to the deeper soils and older vines. With several vineyards, the wine gains complexity and enhancing its elegant, fruit-forward flavors.

Malolactic fermentation occurs in barrels with weekly stirring to develop rich texture. This Merlot is 100% barrel aged for 18 months in French oak. Provenance takes a minimalistic winemaking approach with periodic topping and aeration as decided by the winemaker during monthly tastings.
