Stori is named for a tributary of the Alazani River in the Republic of Georgia, made by a group of friends dedicated to a non-interventional approach using organic farming and native yeasts in their winemaking. Stori is an unfiltered dry red hailing from an ancient land producing wine for more than 8,000 years. We are fascinated by the stories behind this wine region, and quality of its wines.
Crafted in Napareuli, an appellation north of Telavi in eastern Georgia renowned for its terroir and for the quality of the Saperavi grown there, Stori is made of 100% Saperavi. The Saperavi grape is native to Georgia, and found throughout Russia and surprisingly in the Finger Lakes of New York as well. Medium-large dark blue berries produce deep reds known for aging. This hardy grape is known to handle extreme cold weather and fares well in high altitudes. This Saperavi is from a region that abuts the steep and breathtaking mountains that separate Georgia from Dagestan. Stori is a winery dedicated to harnessing the power and finesse of Saperavi which pairs very well with grilled meats and aged cheeses, or middle eastern or greek kebabs. The beautiful label is a painting by the owner's son especially created for this lovely wine.

Deep, savory and expressive, with mint, red cherry, spice, plum, leather and blackberry on the nose and in the mouth. Smooth and delicious, reminiscent of a high quality dry Greek red, this is a charming surprise from the ancient soils of the Republic of Georgia. Love that it's only 12.5% alcohol as well. Will be terrific at summer bbq's on the shore.
