Our own private Bottle Shop Barrel :: 120 proof :: from Knob Creek. When Booker Noe created Knob Creek, he revived full-flavored, pre-prohibition style bourbon and rye whiskies. Each bottle stands as a hard-earned piece of American whiskey history, and each barrel tells a story of its own, uniquely influenced by nature, time and its individual journey. This bottle was tasted, loved and chosen by our wine and whiskey buyers to sell exclusively at the Bottle Shop.
Our Knob Creek single barrel was aged for 9 years in Warehouse H in Clermont, Kentucky, on floor 5, rick 46 and tier 2. We first noticed its gleaming color with peachy orange amber hues; then the nose was subtle at first, and less gregarious than the other barrel samples, but ultimately became the most alluring with orange zest, spice, crême de pêche, vanilla and a touch of hay aromas. Our summation was 'classic Knob Creek' nose. Then finally, the palate was the most elegant we tasted, 'calmer' we wrote compared to the others, 'apple skin, hint of tropical fruit, sweet vanilla, good fire, clementine fruit, toasted oak, praline and a lovely biscuit note.' All in all, a rich, balanced, composed style worthy of the Knob Creek reputation of excellence.
