Marco Bonfante Gavi di Gavi 2020

'Our family has been producing wines in Piedmont and precisely in Nizza Monferrato for 8 generations, so long that the hill that saw our ancestors grow took the name Bonfante'... Marco and Micaela are a brother and sister team with a passion for good wine made in their home of Piedmont. Quality is the basis of their work: the secret of their products lies in the careful selection of the grapes, allowing them to produce and offer customers an assortment of the most important denominations of southern Piedmont. The Bonfante's believe that when one finds a good wine, they are finding a treasure, and treasures must be treated with care. For the wines of Marco Bonfante Winery they use a heavy bottle in dark glass that protects it from breakage and light.

Made of 100% handpicked Cortese, the color is straw-yellow, with greenish reflections. The delicate and fruity nose has notes of citrus, almond oil, white flowers and guava. Aged in stainless steel to preserve the freshness of the wine, this wine is produced on the Ca del Rosso Estate in Monterotondo di Gavi. The soils are made of thick and solid sandstones, named Serravalle sandstones. The ground has a very light color which reflects the sun and heats the grapes. The high altitude (300 mt. asl), woods and sea breezes contribute to create a microclimate with strong temperature ranges, which favor the development and the fineness of the  aromas. This Gavi reveals itself immediately to be a classy white wine with fruity aromas and good structure, obtained thanks to the vineyard’s particular soil composition, making this a wine that is highly recommended with fish and light cheeses made of goat and sheep's milk.
