Meaning 'Daughter' in Italian, Figlia is the 'little sister' to Figgins Estate Red. Named after Chris Figgins' daughters, Raegan and Scarlett, the 2020 is the fifth release of Figlia. A deeply flavored blend of Petit Verdot and Merlot blend, Figlia has deep color to the rim. It sports a nose of vanilla cream soda, plum. fig jam and blueberry compote, spring garden flowers, and thyme. Silky, sultry, and broad on the palate with fine-grained tannin and crisp acidity on the finish. This wine is crafted to be more approachable in its youth than the Estate Red, with richness of flavor coupled with remarkable freshness.
100% estate bottled from the Figgins Estate Vineyard, aged 22 months in French oak barrels, only 865 cases produced. Drink now through 2034.
Pronunciation: "FEE-Lia"

Blackberries, dark fruit, tar, tobacco leaf and toast on the nose. It’s full-bodied with firm, tight and chewy tannins. Structured and flavorful with a deep core of dark fruit and some smoke. Bitter chocolate and black tea on the finish. Long. 50/50 Petit verdot and merlot. Try from 2023.

Looking at the 2021 Figlia, it's an interesting blend of Petit Verdot and Merlot. (Again, the percentages are a secret.) Its saturated purple hue is followed by a wonderfully pure, exotic, medium to full-bodied red that has loads of blue fruits, some floral, sage, and leafy herb notes, ripe, building yet polished tannins, and a great finish. It’s another brilliant wine in the lineup from this estate that shines on all accounts.

Boldly structured but richly polished, with expressive flavors of blackberry and cherry that are layered with lavender and woodsy spices as this builds tension toward fine-grained tannins. Petit Verdot and Merlot. Drink now through 2033. 1,487 cases made.

A blend of Merlot and Petit Verdot blend and clocking in at 14.3% alcohol, the 2021 Figlia presents a dark, juicy and firm character, featuring layers of dark red and purple resinous flowers. The bold and ripe nose is complemented by plenty of supporting oak essences. The medium to full-bodied palate is expressive, balanced and fresh, showcasing fine-grained tannins that gracefully melt away over the long, juicy and succulent finish. This stands out as the best bottling of Figlia to date, and given its quality and price point, stocking up on this wine is highly recommended.
