Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits St. Georges 2018

This Nuits-St.-Georges is by blending the fruit of 5 climats: the Plateaux, Belles Croix, Fleurières, Brûlées, and the Chaliots. All of these parcels are located at the south of Nuits Saint Georges, at the start of the hillside, on deep soils, with a blending of clay, alluvium and limestone gravels. These wines are pure and generous, and need a few years in bottle to show their true potential. 

For nearly a century, generations of the Gouges family have taken turns to highlight the wines of Nuits Saint Georges. First Henri Gouges, then Michel and Marcel; who were then followed by Pierre and Christian, and now Grégory and Antoine. Experts of the Pinot Noir, this estate tends 14 hectares of vines, exclusively in Nuits St Georges. The straight forward, intense, consistent, and authentic Burgundy wines produced here have made the high reputation of the estate. The production volume is related to the climatic conditions, and the growing method focuses on quality and respect of the terroirs at the expense of the quantity.
