Piratas del Ebro Chatxo Rioja Alavesa 2020

A pure expression of Tempranillo from sustainably farmed hillside vineyards in Rioja Alavesa, the Basque part and highest sub-zone of the Rioja region. Alavesa is one of the greatest wine terroirs in Spain, combining high altitude, limestone soils and old vines. Here the result is a dry red with wonderful freshness, elegance and depth of flavors. Bright berries, flowers and stones abound with a silky texture and lovely style reminiscent of a good Pinot Noir. Unoaked. Chatxo is a local Basque word, short for Muchacho.
