In 2017, Mother Nature delivered a concentrated harvest and the talented Kosta Browne team worked tirelessly to bring the fruit in at peak quality. These wines are inspired by a desire to capture the essence of California's best vineyards for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. This place-driven focus guides every decision in both vineyard and cellar, and each year Kosta Browne strives to produce exemplary representations of vintage and terroir.
The Santa Lucia Highlands appellation is centered upon the two Gary's, and it is fitting they should have a vineyard that is a tribute to their collaboration. Garys’ Vineyard is a viticultural partnership between Gary Franscioni and Gary Pisoni, where their experience and passion for farming are poured into this exceptional site.
The benefactor of one of California’s longest growing seasons, which results in slow and gentle fruit development on the vine, this wine displays rhubarb, vibrant citrus zest and spiced plum. A 19-month barrel program preserves this wine’s electric character. Expansive, with palate-coating layers of red fruits, black tea and a freshness on the finish.

Roasted cherry and tart cranberry aromas are dusted with caramel and vanilla bean on the nose of this excellent bottling, which balances ripeness with precision. There's a fruit-punch kick to the tip of the sip, where dark strawberry, baking-spice, slate and earth flavors converge, wrapped in a texture that grows more firm toward the finish.

From a great vineyard located near the middle of the appellation, the 2017 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard reveals more of a ruby/plum color to go with more forest floor, loamy earth, iron, baking spices, mulled blackberries, and darker currants. Textured and medium to full-bodied, it has a broad, expansive mouthfeel and a great finish.

Aged 11 months in 47% new French oak, the 2017 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard is medium ruby in the glass, with the nose offering desiccated roses, rhubarb and pomegranate with citrus peel, earth and licorice spice. Light to medium-bodied, it's über silky and gives up oodles of perfumed red berry fruit with a soft frame and fantastic freshness, finishing long and spiced. 875 cases produced.
