Founded in 1760 in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, a grand cru village located in la Côte des Blancs, Champagne Delamotte works this enchanting terroir to grow high quality Chardonnay, the only white grape variety used to make Delamotte champagne. Loved by sommeliers and wine enthusiasts, Delamotte champagnes are known for their consistency, delicacy and exceptional character. For over 260 years, Delamotte has been developing four different cuvées : Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Blancs vintage, Brut and Rosé.
Made of Chardonnay 60%, Pinot noir 35%, and Pinot Meunier 5%, Delamotte Brut is pale gold in color, with excellent purity on the nose, laced with citrus, white blossom, lemon zest and mossy notes. Its creamy freshness is further emphasized by the textural delicacy of its mousse. Many occasions lend themselves to opening a bottle of Delamotte Brut - a generous champagne, clean and elegant. This is a champagne made for pleasure, an absolute must for the cellar of all those who celebrate life.
In a bottle of Delamotte Brut, an orchestra of three grape varieties plays a particularly balanced score. The 60% Chardonnay content forms the backbone of its structure while the 35% Pinot Noir from Tours-sur-Marne, Bouzy and Ambonnay give it depth and fruit. The 5% Pinot Meunier perfects these harmonies with aromatic density. Without ever assaulting the palate, this is a beautifully powerful champagne. Freshness and roundness merge to deliver a clean, fruity finish, with well-balanced and elegant length on the palate. A light dosage is added to Delamotte Brut champagne after thirty-six months’ maturation on the lees, as is the case for the entire Delamotte range.

Light yellow. Spicy lemon and lime aromas are complicated by ginger and talc, with a suave floral quality gaining strength in the glass. Fresh and energetic, offering racy citrus and pear flavors that are strikingly pure and mineral-driven. One of the brightest and most lithe examples of this cuvee that I've had in recent years and reminiscent of the elegant versions I remember from the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Subtle and lacy in texture, with a smoky, minerally underpinning and flavors of ripe pear, lemon meringue and pickled ginger.
