Bico Amarelo which means 'Yellow Beak' is a Portughese white wine that expresses the characteristics and grape varieties of the Vinho Verdes region. It is a light and refreshing wine, for all occasions. Look for green pear, lemon, papaya and white flower notes in this crisp, fresh, dry white. Made of local grapes, Loureiro, Alvarinho and Avesso, which produced a fuller style, we found it positively delicious, especially with green castelvetrano olives & shrimp cocktail from Spring Lake Seafood. Made by Jose Luis Moreira da Silva at the renowned Esporao winery.
The grapes are picked by hand, followed by a pneumatic pressing of whole grapes. Cold decanting of the must for 48 hours. Fermentation at controlled temperature (10-15ºC) for 12 to 15 days. In contact with lees, for about 4 to 6 months in stainless steel tank at controlled temperature. All of this work keeps the wine full of flavor yet fresh and mouthwatering. Only 11.5% alcohol which we love, especially in the summer.
