Armé Cabernet Sauvignon is part of the Marietta Family Series, which consists of three carefully-crafted wines: Román Zinfandel, Christo Rhône Blend and Armé Cabernet Sauvignon. Marietta Cellars is a second-generation winery that continues to transform hard work, a blessed climate, special pieces of land and belief into beautiful liquid expressions of family and place. For decades, Marietta has produced wine by purchasing high quality fruit from local friends and farmers. Some of these meaningful relationships led to the acquisition of some of those same vineyards that they had been working with for years. In the case of Geyserville, owner Scot Bilbro's father worked the land and gained the trust of Viola Angeli before she offered him the opportunity to purchase it. The Bilbro family has always relied on friendships, community and personal connections. The results are in every bottle of Marietta wine.
This charming estate-grown beauty is made of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 4% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot, from hand-selected grapes from Marietta's estate vineyards in Alexander Valley, the Yorkville Highlands and McDowell Valley. Aged for 20 months in neutral barrels, this is named for Armé, Marietta's husband and Christo's great-uncle who lived a self-sustaining lifestyle. Only going to the store for flour or sugar, all else was either pickled, canned, hunted or fished. With one foot in California and one foot in the Old World, this first-generation Italian-American lived, worked, hunted and fished throughout Alexander Valley, the Yorkville Highlands, and the McDowell Valley. He and Christo fished throughout the Russian River and Dry Creek River tributaries and 60 years later, from these exact basins, the family now farms the grapes which make his namesake wine. Combining the best of what these sites offer, this unique Cabernet Sauvignon is an approachable yet incredibly serious wine, representative of excellent site selection and innovative winemaking.
14.7% ABV. 6,000 cases produced. Drink now or age up to fifteen years.

The 2018 Armé Cabernet Sauvignon is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon blended with 7% Merlot, 4% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot. Medium ruby-purple, it has pure, classic aromas of cassis, graphite, violets, loamy earth and tobacco. The intensely flavored palate is light on its feet with loads of juicy lift and a soft tannic frame, and it finishes long and floral. It's an incredibly elegant style, particularly at this price point! Drink 2021 -2030
